Values for Life
At St Mary of the Angels, we strive for all of our children to be successful and reflective learners in order to enable them to fulfil their God-given potential. We have unpicked our Christian values and identified 6 key principles for children to follow and called them ‘Values for Life’. The introduction of the Values for Life Award will help nurture our children in their academic, personal, and spiritual development, in preparation for life as successful adults.
Our values underpin everything we do at St Mary’s and are interwoven through all areas of the curriculum and core skills taught daily. Each half term, we will focus on a different value which derives from the Beatitudes taught to us by Jesus at the Sermon on the Mount.
Our Values for Life are:
At St Mary’s we work with integrity
At St Mary’s show compassion
At St Mary’s we show humility to each other
At St Mary’s we understand the importance of tolerance
At St Mary’s we forgive each other and understand everyone makes mistakes
At St Mary’s sacrifice ourselves to prioritise others
We are launching the Values for Life Award this year for any of our junior children who wish to participate. The award will be a combination of in-school and home learning. Upon the completion of the award in July, each child will receive a medal and certificate for all their hard work, and they will also be celebrated in assembly.
Please see the attached booklet detailing all the different challenges.
