Mathematics

Mathematics is a core subject in the National Curriculum. It underpins all areas of the curriculum. On this page, you can read how Mathematics is prioritised at St. Mary's; simply click the links below.

The 'White Rose Primary Curriculum' document sets out the key pieces of knowledge and skills in Mathematics that we expect the children to know as they progress through their curriculum with links to the 'Ready to Progress' NCETM criteria. End-of-unit assessments and summative assessments are used to assess a child's progress and attainment, at key stages of their development, and to identify the child's next steps in learning.

We also have a vocabulary list attached to help parents and children to recap and learn familiar and unfamiliar vocabulary associated with their maths lessons. This vocabulary links with our main scheme of work, White Rose Maths, but can also be applied across the curriculum.
