Love jesus, love learning, love life

Welcome to our school.

Welcome to St. Mary of the Angels!

HOT NEWS; SPANISH EXCHANGE CHILDREN ARRIVING FROM PAMPLONA ON 2ND OCTOBER FOR A WEEK, STAYING WITH THEIR Y6 PARTNERS. A UNIQUE PRIMARY EXCHANGE, ONLY HELD AT ST MARY'S, WITH SHARED EDUCATION, LIVING AND CULTURAL VISITS! PLEASE SAY 'HOLA' IF YOU SEE THEM, AND GIVE THEM A BIG ST. MARY'S WELCOME!

"St. Mary of the Angels provides outstanding Catholic education....pupils' behaviour is excellent...they are polite, extremely well mannered and keen to help and look after each other...there is outstanding provision for ALL of the pupils." (S48 Ofsted inspection, June 2016.)

CONGRATULATIONS TO PUPILS, STAFF, GOVERNORS, PARENTS AND PARISHIONERS ON OUR RECENT 'OUTSTANDING IN ALL AREAS' OFSTED VISIT! It truly is a family school and a family effort. So proud!

Welcome back to school everyone! And a special welcome to our new Reception class children! We also welcome Luke and Lydia, in Year 1; and Aleksandra in Year 3. What lovely children!

STOP PRESS! WE'VE OPENED OUR OWN BRAND NEW CAFE AND DELI BAR!
And, to be honest, everyone we asked thinks it is a big success; and much better than last year's school meals! Everything is freshly batch cooked, with a 'choose your own' deli bar, with subs, wraps and batches, which can be loaded with your own fillings and salads. Choose from tuna mayo, ham, cheese, Chinese chicken...and many more. TUESDAY WAS CURRY DAY! The chicken curry was made with fresh yoghurt, healthy for you, and a mild coconut flavour. The vegetarian Sweet Potato and Lentil curry was even more popular, with plenty of dessert choices including homemade chocolate sponge with custard. WEDNESDAY - full roast carvery dinner, with juicy gammon cut freshly from the roast joint...and all the trimmings. Delicious! Fresh fruit platters, cheese and biscuits, home made desserts & milk shakes...there are so many highlights! And all these improvements for the same price as last year! SEE PHOTOS ON OUR 'NEWS' PAGE.....(bottom of this page).

2015-16 was indeed another busy and successful year at the school, culminating in the excellent inspection report.....now it's 'good luck and God bless you' to our school leavers, as they moved onto their high schools! This term, we've already had an 'Assessment' evening for parents, to explain how we assess your children; as well as new Reception Macmillan Coffee afternoon, where they all sang for their parents, and shared their lovely learning journeys. Yeat 3 also did a brilliant class assembly for parents on 30th September; amazing! Well done everyone!
Please keep checking the school calendar for all the details of 2016-17 events! Don't forget we have a holiday club at autumn half term....details in the 'Little Angels' tab, at the top of this page.

We are a Catholic primary school serving our parish, and also the wider community of Ellesmere Port. We are a family friendly school, and our Mission Statement is
LOVE JESUS;
LOVE LEARNING;
LOVE LIFE.

We're very proud to walk in the footsteps of Jesus Christ; everyone is cared for; and every person's talents are celebrated! We welcome children of all faiths or no faith in particular.

Since 2001, we've had 8 Ofsted accredited inspections. EVERY grade in EVERY inspection has been either OUTSTANDING or GOOD. This is the only school in the town with this record; and we are very proud of our ongoing commitment to excellent education. Ofsted said in  2013 that "pupils' behaviour is exceptionally good - at all times". 100% of teaching is certified outstanding or good. In summer 2016, they said it was an " outstanding" Catholic school.

We have a new, unique school building, which you have to see to believe! All the latest technology; natural light and ventilation; and environmental features help us to learn rapidly. Suites of i-pads and laptops are used daily, in all curriculum areas. Why not come and see us; and find out what we do for yourself!

To visit us, simply ring 0151 338 2430. You're most welcome to come to any of our assemblies, social events or Church services of course! They're all in the calendar on this site. I look forward to meeting you. Your child will receive an excellent education and the highest quality of care here, from our excellent staff team. Pop in - we're here for you, with a warm welcome.

Rob Hughes (Headteacher, St. Mary of the Angels).
