P.E and Sport

St. Mary of the Angels is proud to have attained the Gold Level in the National School Sports Awards, a Government-led award to schools who promote P.E., games and competition within school and, more widely, in their communities. We have many visiting sport partners, both in our curriculum and outside school hours, ensuring that school is strongly promoted and available to every pupil at our school.

For example, we are the Y1 Ellesmere Port Mini-kickers champions 2019!

Year 1 and Year 2 pupils won both of the local Cheshire Oaks School Games Partnership football tournaments. They then went on to represent our district in the Finch Farm finals at Everton Football Club

Year 2 came third overall! Fantastic result!

Gymnastics 2019

As well as street dance this term, children have been using the apparatus to perform gymnastic poses and working in pairs constructing balance routines.

We have some exciting news around this year’s Summer Games.

We are doing something a little bit different this year given the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Cheshire and Warrington School Games County Finals is the biggest school sport event and we don’t want you to miss out.

Every week, one of our School Games Organisers will set you a challenge in line with the Cheshire and Warrington School Games events. The first challenge will start from Wednesday 29th April.

I’ve attached the virtual programme and here’ a link https://we.tl/t-9776uNsyOv for our marketing video. (It’s only going to be on there for 7 days though.)

All you have to do to enter is record yourself taking part and having a go at the challenges. You can take part in as many challenges as you like. Rewards will be given to the individuals and schools from each School Sport Partnership area.

We want to try to get as many of you and your families taking part 😊

You can submit your entries using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or email.

Use the #CheshireVirtualGames and tag @TheEPortSSP and @CWSchoolGames so we can see!

Enjoy taking part, be innovative and have fun!
